The Catlett Farm Venue

Our Family at the Farm

As a newly engaged young woman, Mrs. Catlett first met her future father-in-law at his farm doing what he loved best…mowing his fields. This 35-acre property was not a working farm but Mr. Catlett was a farmer at heart and loved to piddle around. He had a few peach trees and planted corn, soybeans, and peanuts for his family. Later in life, he loved spending time on the weekends mowing and making the land beautiful for his family…it was relaxing! When Marie first meet him, she jumped up on the tractor and began a wonderful relationship with him AND his farm.

In 2001, Joe Sr. was ready to pass the property to Joe & Marie. Over the next couple of decades they would slowly add to the land with the help of a very talented friend by digging the pond, adding the Pavilion & Cabanas, and then the crowning achievement of the farm was when the gorgeous Japanese footbridge was lowered into place, connecting the island gazebo to the woods and fields and giving easy access to yet another scenic photo op. This simple property on the river had turned into a show stopper and has become the location of thousands of memories.

At the end of 2017, The Catlett’s decided to turn their unused horse barn into a reception venue for their daughters wedding reception. Then they added a caterers room, brides room, and two restrooms to begin renting their property. May 2018 was their first wedding!

Now it’s her turn. Yep! She loves mowing too and is so grateful to have a tractor and 2 zero-turn mowers that allow her & Jana to give the property a fresh cut before your big day. And they love to mow walking paths through the tall grass fields for you and your photographer!

Making everything beautiful for you and your family to enjoy on your wedding day makes us happy here at The Catlett Farm. Marie said there is nothing better than watching children run across the fields or guests taking selfies on the Japanese footbridge.

Now it’s your turn. We promise, no mowing…just enjoy Your Day, welcome Your Friends, and love Your Family.”

Are We a “Farm”?

We’re actually not a real farm! (So no worries about smelly fertilizer). Just an absolutely gorgeous property to enjoy. So why are we called The Catlett “Farm”? Tradition, Habit, you name it. It is what the extended family and everyone from church, scouts, etc. called it for over 50 years.

The Barn was built around the same time the pond was created, when the Catlett kids were young. They had a few horses for several years but as the children got busy with high school there was little time for riding. The Barn sat there for several years slowly turning into a big storage room. A group of young missionaries from their church helped them clean it out so the renovation could begin. What a transformation it has gone through!!!
